Prophet Muhammad to the Founding of the United States
One might think the most obvious connection between the Prophet Muhammad and the United States deals with 9/11. Actually, the connection is much more important and dates back much farther in American History.
AD 622 Muhammad travels from Mecca to Medina. By dictating revelations or signs from God, Muhammad is able to develop a large following which develops into an army in the tens of thousands.
Within one hundred years of Muhammad's death most of Arabia and the Middle East come under the control of Muslim armies.
Within approximately 400 years Islam has spread up to Southern Europe and effectively isolated Europe from its traditional trade routes through the Mediterranean and the middle east on to India and Asia.
This left Europe isolated, poor and in bad health (the spices from southern Asia such as pepper were needed to preserve and make palatable meats and other dietary staples.
With their route to Asia blocked by Muslim armies the need for a new route to Asia was obvious and it was this desire for the spices of Asia that lead Columbus to stumble upon the American continent.
If not for the Prophet Muhammad who knows when Europeans would have decided that they needed to go exploring.
